These Solar Only Classic 150 SL Lite, Classic 200 SL Lite, and Classic 250 SL Lite MPPT charge controllers have streamlined menus, are easy to set up and install, and have all of MidNite’s Classic charge controllers power. MidNite’s unique HyperVOC technology is used in the Classic SL series, which is available in three operating voltages: 150, 200, and 250 volts. HyperVOC is a non-operational VOC safety zone above and beyond the maximum input voltage for those chilly winter mornings when the output voltage would harm most controllers.

The Classic 250 SL Lite MPPT Charge Controller is a simplified SOLAR ONLY version of the Classics. The Classic 250 SL Lite charge controller has a graphical panel and a ground fault but no arc fault or Ethernet functionality. The Classic 250 SL has a maximum output current of 61 amps, an operating voltage of 250 volts, and is compatible with 12 to 72-volt battery systems.

The Classic 250 SL, like the rest of the Classic line, is equipped with MidNite’s exclusive HyperVOC technology, which increases VOC limitations as needed. These SOLAR-only MPPT charge controllers are straightforward to set up and install, thanks to a simplified user interface!

Why would you need a new loading controller when the Classic 150 can achieve 96 amps, the Classic 250 can reach 79 amps, and the Classic 250 can reach 63 amps?

MidNite Solar has increased the size of its factory floor for the Classic line of charge controllers, making it the only true “Made in America” charge controller. The only MPPT charge controllers with built-in Arc Fault Detection are the Classic standard variants, making them the safest controllers available.

FAQs: MidNite Solar CLASSIC 250 SL Lite Charge Controller

☁️ With a MidNite Solar Classic 250 SL Charge Controller, how many 395w solar panels would I need to charge a bank of 10 x 100Ah 12v AGM batteries at 50% capacity in 5 hours?

🔎  First, we must determine the battery’s capacity. As a result, multiplying 12 Volts by 100 Amps results in 1,200 Watt-hours per battery. 12,000 Watt-hours is the equivalent of ten batteries (12 Kilowatt-hours). A 50% discharge is equal to 6 kilowatt-hours. 4 panels are required to charge this with 5 hours of sunlight. I’m not sure how much direct sunshine you’d receive from fixed panels where you live, but six panels might suffice.

☁️ Is it possible to use a 60-volt battery with the MidNite Solar Classic 250 SL Lite Charge Controller?

🔎  You can visit MidNite Solar’s Classic string sizing tool for sizing purposes.

☁️ Is it possible to use the MidNite Solar Classic 250 SL Lite Charge Controller with Lithium ION batteries?

🔎  Yes. Charging time and voltage are both completely adjustable. It is, however, strongly advised that the battery bank have its own BMS.

☁️ What is the distinction between Standard classic and Lite classic models?

🔎  The MidNite Solar Classic 250 SL Lite charge controllers are designed for solar power alone and are not compatible with hydro or wind power systems. The “Lite” model is less expensive, but it lacks a Digital Display and Arc Fault Protection. In addition, instead of the graphical display included on the original Classic controller, the Lite version of this controller contains an LED indication panel with Dip switches. As a result, I believe that the full-function machine is an excellent investment.

☁️ Is it possible to switch off the Wi-Fi on the MidNite Solar Classic 250 SL Charge Controller in order to save energy?

🔎  There is no WiFi incorporated into the Classic 250 MPPT Charge Controller. As a result, there is no power loss. A built-in Ethernet connector allows for the optional internet connection.
